Description
As we are nearing the end of this story, we get a quiet characters moment in this page.

If you analyse the page visually, you realise that on the first and third panels, Flash and the guy he rescued are having a fun little banter as guys often do. This is light and joyful. Their faces reflect that tone.

In panels two and four, the rest of the climbers are arguing about what it is the doctor experienced with the Flash up there. The tone is heavy and tense between all 4 characters present.

The left part of the page reflects the light tone of the story in that the staging offers more place and light to the scene. It’s even humorous in that flash exiting the scene startles the nurse.

Whereas on the right part, the heavy scene feels cluttered as all the characters are sitting next to each other in the small tent. The atmosphere is heavy with shadows to reflect the tense conversation.

Then in the last fifth panel, as the Flash pops in the second scene, he seemingly brings some of the le levity from his own scene into the other one. You’ll note that he is surrounded by light to exemplify this as the rest of the panel is still heavy shadowed.

My favorite part maybe the doc’s reaction to the Flash popping in as it is very natural a stance.

You will finally notice the body language of the character in the far right in panel 4 and 5 as it paves the way for the next page.

All of this was done on purpose by a master storyteller who brought so much subtly to his work.

Nearing the end of the story!? Say it ain't so! Fun page. I really like that "peekaboo" look on Flash in the final panel :)

Sigh!  I really miss Steve Lightle.  Even more so, I really miss those days when I would see a new Lightle cover and just pick up the phone to call Mitch and have him get it for me.  Can't believe there was a time when it was just that easy.  Of course it would have been nicer if I had actually KEPT all of them.  Haha!  Great page by the way.

I really like pages like this with 2 scenes going on simultaneously in this layout style, because you could read panels 1 and 3 to begin with if you wanted to, followed by panels 2 and 4, then move down to panel 5 and it would read just as well as if you read it from left to right, top to bottom. Perkins did this in the first issue if Second Knight. Lightle also did a great job with the lighting on this page. Really fun stuff!

Also, it's more human nature on display as some want to press on and keep climbing.  Lightle working in darkness in these regular speed moments are just as effective in delivering action creating visual interest.

Great call on the light/dark dynamics Steve puts into play here; Flash is (almost literally) spotlighted well in panels 1&3, and is even allowed a nice splash of illumination in panel 5 (just to prove the point that it's his book :) ).  Congrats (once more!) on picking up a full book that provdes multiple strong examples of Lightle's storytelling prowess - really nice work!
