Description
What a gorgeous cover by Butch Guice! Captain America holding a dead... Captain America?? This issue dealt with the aftermath of Fear Itself, as Nick Fury faked Bucky's death without Steve knowing, leading on to Steve taking the mantle of Captain America back!! The cover is pure Guice, although it does give me some Mitch Breitweiser vibes as well, and I love the pose of Steve holding Bucky's body, his face obscured to show the the darkness of such a somber moment!

Fantastic piece with it's somber tone and pieta style pose. Cap/Bucky perfection by Guice and the Washington monument behind them serves as a fitting landmark to add further weight to the moment.

Absolutely phenomenal. Also very touching in a different way now, as I see it more like Cap carrying the dearly departed Butch. 😢

Great cover! But what's up with all the caps?? They are getting to be like robins with the pure volume of people wearing the Stars and Stripes!

There really aren't that many... Steve, Bucky and Sam are the only ones really... in 60 years, that's not bad!!

Isiah Bradley barely showed up in comics and John Walker was a joke!

Loved Guice's work on Cap/Bucky with Brubaker, and this image is just dripping with emotion (and detail).  Congrats!
