Description

I think actually the Terry Beatty preceded it but this one set the bar on what could be done with S&S. I had talked to Steve about this at San Diego early on and he seemed keen on it. He asked what I was looking for. I said that I wanted him to be true to the characters but to do it in his own style. I also said that he could put them with an animal if he wanted. I pointed out that in the comics they had adventures with several baby animals (since all babies speak baby talk they could understand each other) Plus Steve had used his cat in the Dreaming story and had done Trypto the Acid dog so I thougt of him as someone who was adept at drawing animals. I had included a page where they meet a baby elephant in the samples I lent Steve. His sketch brought that situation into the real world.
