I've been retired since 2020, but in the last few years, I think this Crotch Goblin painting has travelled to more places than I have. Sheesh! Anyway, great Oksner page. Got turned on to Bob's work through Kevin Nowlan. Oksner is his favorite artist. Kevin would love this page, as he is a huge Frankenstein fan as well. Happy Halloween everyone! Now if you'll excuse me, that pizza (the photo, not the art) is making me hungry.
Bob Hope is cool, but Drac and Frankie?! It;s time for the monster mash!
Nice spooky addition! Happy Hallows Eve!!
Super fun page! Happy Halloween!
Do you think Bill poses like that for the missus?
Bob is a Transformer!!!! Pizza mode!
Nothing as Americana as Bob Hope and Costco pizza slices!
Nice and fun!
I'd trade you my entire collection for this page! But you'd have to explain in great detail how warehouse flavoured pizza tastes like and include a slice in the package with this page.
I can't even fathom a Bob Hope comic making it to 99 issues... different times!
Nice to see Bob get a pizza the action at last. Although the page may be a little too cheesy, so I Hope you didn't pay too much dough for it. But then again, I'm not sure it's a real pizza. It may be a pepperphony. Great Oksner art, though.
This is fun. Very glad you included a video and what memories Bob Hope brings up. He lived to 100, was a boxer and raised in Cleveland. Now I want to see one of the Road to movies, and see if it still holds up (Note: Marx Brothers films still do). Also Neal Adam's did some work on this comic.
And the page even has banana peels!! Forget the Hope in the sky, as a big pizza pie... THAT'S amore! This one is so good that I don't even know where to start. It's jam-packed with SO much, but I'm guessing that if we read it in the context of the full story, everything will lock into place and make perfect sense, right? ;) (The cherry on the cake has to be your additional image that informs us that the Ghost House is open from the 11th to the 30th, and is closed on the 31st :) ). A sensational slice of swingin' sixties surrealism: Bob Hope finally wins his Oksner! What a great pick up, Marcus - congrats (and happy halloween)!
What a fun Oksner page (twice up! sweet.) and perfect timing, Happy Halloween Marcus! BTW, I went to Costco yesterday myself and between the warehouse slices and the $1.50 dogs and soda combos (at least here), I'm not sure why I'd ever choose to eat or shop anywhere else, except then the fact that a fancy bag of gourmet Jack Fruit chips is over $10. They went budget on cheap meat, but everything else is going up! I guess the Dueling Dealers metaphor still works.
Flying pizza Bob panels and classic monsters have me absolutely speechless! What a Halloween page!
Thanks for sharing a slice of your collection.
Imagine how devious the attack if he added pineapple.
Always enjoy seeing any Oksner art and DC silver age humor art - this foots the bill for sure. Now play that Monster Mash track!

Nice Halloween posting
I loved the OG Halloween costumes - they were a staple of my childhood. Congrats!
Great Bob Hope!! Cool piece!!
I like to think that these Bob Hope comics were based on instances from Hope's real life.
He wasn't that good of a guy in real life though.
He was probably grumpy because his real life wasn't as cool as it was in the comic book.
You know, I think sometimes we forget that for every superhero comic that was published back in the day, there were way more comics featuring Archie, Richie Rich, Casper the Friendly Ghost. and yes, Bob Hope! It's great to see you focusing a part of your comic art collection on this sometimes forgotten part of our comic art past. Bob Oskner rules!
Bob Hope! Who do you remind me of? Beautiful drawings.
Classic Oksner , bravo Marcus !!
Who woulda thought...tomato sauce as the go-to! Lil late here but a super fun page, MW!
Dang, how did I miss this? Really love this page. Especially that 4th panel. Great add!!
