Description

Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez is one of the best ever to work in comics. He was so good that DC had him draw their style guide. That guide defined the definitive look of DC characters for merchandise licensing and other purposes.

I've wanted a piece by him for quite some time, but hadn't found the right one. At the Baltimore Comic Con 2025, the theme of their yearbook was Jeff Smith's Bone. I found the right piece; the one Jose drew.

Front and center we see Thorn, to her left we have Fone Bone and a Stupid, Stupid Rat Creature, and to her right is Fone Bone's cousin, Smiley Bone. You can read about them here.

This drawing is published on page 8 of the Baltimore Comic Con's 2025 Yearbook.

There no doubt JLGL would be great on the Thorne, but it's really cool to see him work the cartoon characters of the Bones and the Rat Creature.
