Very nice Pacheco page (love that Black Panther kick!) and a fitting tribute on the anniversary of his passing. 

You can feel the engergy in that last panel kick!

Great page from the final issue of the original title.  I think Carlos only got the chance to do two issues before they relaunched FF with Jim Lee.  But Carlos got to do a much longer run when they relaunched the title again with Alan Davis.  Was lucky enough to get a cover from that run, but foolishly sold it.  I'm down to one Pacheco piece now since I sold my Bishop pinup to his son Alex for the Pacheco museum in Spain.  Thanks for posting this tribute on the anniversary of his passing.  I wish he was still here creating amazing artwork.  But he left us a beautiful and timeless legacy.

Standout early work by Pacheco.

I don't even want to know what "Fantastic Force" is. Let's just focus on the art, rather than the decisions made by the House of Bad Ideas. The very first thing I noticed about the page is the Silver Age styled, three panel layout. Naturally it brings to mind the pulse pounding dynamism of Jack Kirby, which is good, because then Pacheco continues that theme with the very dynamic Black Panther figure in the last panel. Both of these artistic decisions seem to indicate that Pacheco likely had the idea to channel the power of Kirby when he drew this. Already 3 years since he passed? Wow, time sure does fly as I get older.....

Perspective all the way through where characters and the action are moving to and fro based on the way Pacheco moved the camera in this page.  Dynamic at every turn!  

A beautiful way to commemorate a very sad occasion, F M; a lovely example of Carlos's technical skill as both draftsman and storyteller.  Starting with the foundation of a compelling page layout and continuing through to the fine touch he wields in those fluid pencils of his, there's life, energy, and great mechanics infused into this thing at every step.  I -love- panel 1's stack of baddies (that also showcases some of the powers of the Super-Apes!), and although panel 3's Panther kick is (of course) the money shot, I am so impressed with panel two's "simple complexity", and how (through staging and camera placement) Carlos takes our eye by the hand (as it were) and conveys the necessary info (so smoothly and instantly) as it moves through his panel.  There's threat (gun), villain, and victim - boop, boop, boop - right down the line, instantly sorted by our brains in a single glance.  A fun page with great fundamentals at its core - a really moving (and fun) impressive tribute.  R.I.P. Carlos.

Has all the hallmarks that made Pacheco a renowned artist. Congrats!

Fantastic looking page by one of the greats!  Pacheco's work on the last two issues of the regular FF title made me wish that he was continuing as artist rather than turn the book over to Jim Lee and his Wildstorm crew.  I'm glad that Carlos was able to return to the FF years later.
