“Yes, but... why was I sleeping here... dressed? The last thing I remember is that we were talking in your room after making love and... no! Don't tell me it happened again! Like last time, in Bruges. I fell asleep in the Beguinage Museum and had strange dreams in which I saw you talking to a dragon. And even then I lost a small part of my memory! Why? Was it you? Did you hypnotize me?”

“No, it wasn't me. Neither this time nor in Bruges.”

“How do you expect me to believe you? Just because of your beautiful blue eyes... mmm... with green reflections?”

“Dear Hanneke, calm down and think. Another time when you were with me, you lost consciousness, but not your memory. Do you remember the adventure we experienced in Ghent, in your city? Do you remember the shadows?*”
