Description

Caleb Lost is on trial for intervening in human affairs:

“And in the meantime, will I be suspended?”

(Anyel) “Yes. I fear our friends will have to manage without you.”

(Uriel) “After consulting my fellow judge, His Infernal Highness Prince Iblis, I deny your request to adjourn the hearing. At this stage of the investigation, the presence of the accused is crucial. However, I urge the prosecutor, Duke Nergal, to present his objections only when he has the right to speak, and not substitute himself for the judges.”

(Anyel to Nergal) “He's got your number. You on the Other Side are always the first to break the rules!”

“But we're good at leaving no trace, Anyel.”

“You must sign the register, Camael.”

“I prefer to appear in this hearing under my Earth name, Caleb Lost.”

(Uriel) “It's his professional alias. I have no objection. Iblis?”

(Iblis) “Lost means 'lost.' It's as if he were lost, living in that world, but perhaps he wants to assert his right not to be found… so be it!” (The name "Caleb Lost" is always in English; the second and third "lost" here are in Italian, as Iblis ponders how "Lost significa perduto." Such a self-translating sentence inherently loses its meaning when rendered in English.)

“The time has come to state your case, Caleb Lost. Speak, and you will be heard!”

The seats are now filled with a variety of strange spectators, including Jabba the Hutt! Something tells me he's on the infernal side.

I sense drama and tension abound and all around! And I thought I was hallucinating Star Wars aliens but pretty sure they are actually involved now!
