DescriptionA blue and hairy Beast ironically contemplates Him’s conversion into Adam Warlock? Maybe Adam Warlock’s previous incarnation was the original Mr. Pronouns? Like the Beast, I’m scratching my head at their connection, which I’d love to hear if any CAFers know.I absolutely love Byrne’s vintage color pieces. If I had Byrne’s grasp and facility with color markers, I’d rip him off blindly. I just marvel at visionary artists that have such an identifiable and unique color technique, such as Jack Kirby, Barry Windsor-Smith, and of course John Byrne. It’s not every day you get a chance at a vintage Byrne color sketch, so thanks to Albert for this one! Art from 1979 on thick board - 11x13.5. Social/Sharing |

No idea on any connection, but it makes for a great colour contrast. Nice sketch!

That's right, Warlock does startle the Beast in his chair!

Joe you are on a roll! Love the piece, it's is around the vintage of John's killer art of John Byrne book and mirrors his marker work in it, I just wish JB had done more of these color commissions... broken record here...CONGRATS!!!

What you're trying to tell me, Adam, is that there's some stranger running around with a laser beam blowing brassieres off mannequins?

He mut have thought that Warlock under the cloak doesn't show off enough of what he did best and added the Beast to be a viual contrast.
