I love Scooby-Doo, always have, always will. It’s just fun. No, I haven’t seen every iteration, every movie, read everything…but Scooby and the gang are, like, timeless!

I came across this page while browsing the glorious gallery of the one and only George Hagenauer here on CAF. I reached out about this, and a couple other pieces (to be posted later today).

And first surprise, he is (relatively) local to me! Second surprise, he was a huge figure in my early years of collecting! He was one of the fellows running the Chicago Comic-Con charity art auction in ‘96! When I was there, and acquired some pieces from that auction! See my Mitch O’Connell, David Mack Kabuki Circle of Blood page…how cool is that? He was the fellow I bugged about making sure Mitch’s piece was included, he dubbed me “The Kid!”

So he invited me over, we chatted a good bit, I tried not to drool on his amazing collection, and I left with the hopes of coming back someday to visit again! It was a great day, despite my fuel valve dying on the way home. Heh.
