Description

Nice action page for the German publishing company �Ehapa�, where almost all DC superhero-comics in German language were published from 1966 up to 1985. This page was for �Superman Album� issue 9 (1984, cover by master Joe Kubert ?!) with the story title: �Die Energiefalle� (�The energy trap�), drawn by DC-veteran Irv Novick, inked by Tony DeZuniga and written by Paul Kupperberg.
Superman comics lacked sales in this time period in America, but those stories, that were originally done for the German market, were later also published in the USA from DC in the relatively unknown �Superman Quarterly� comic run (1985 up).
I got these infos from a German friend (thanks, Norbert !) and in a second mail he sent me more infos from Paul Kupperbergs homepage: https://kupps.malibulist.com/2016/01/08/obscurities-das-comics/ - that starts with a wrong written (German) title :)
This page has 2 Dc-stamps on the back: �DC inventory 11.30.1983� and the usual 4-rows �Copyright 1986 DC Comics. All rights reserved��!

Superman 3 movie did come out in 1983. I think the films were what made it possible for the Ehapa distribution to happen in the first place. Combined sales of DC Presents, Action Comics, and Superman did top 350,000. That aside, It's a wonderful battle page for the times!

Interesting background details - nice to read those, Tommy. That's a great action page, with lovely compositions by Novick. And you can't really go wrong with DeZuniga inks.
