Description
Glanzman, better known for his war comics, spent time at Gilbert Publishing in the 50s-60s doing stories about the world around us. Each issue had several stories about various topics.

In this story, "Rogue Elephant", a hunter travels to Africa and stalks an elephant that is terrorizing villages. This page shows the hunter catching up to his prey. Or, is the hunter the prey who does not know the roles have been reversed?

The art here is very Glanzmanian. Great touch on the faces and anatomy. Nice detail work to present the scene in its fullest.

Really big art. The pages are 13.5" x 21" and the art is 10.5" x 18". These are the oldest comic book pages I have, by a little more than a decade. I have a couple of comic strip pages that are older (30s and 40s) but no comic book pages except these two.

Glanzman brought us along for this hunt and this exotic location most of us will never get to see in person.

Glanzman's inking really brings the jungle to life and provides a very realistic texture to the bull elephant.
