Description
From the Heritage Auction description: With memories of the Franco-Prussian War and World War I still looming, this beautifully rendered piece (rich in political allegory) depicts a woman carrying fruit and a sickle, torn between the hope for peace and the fear of another looming conflict -- one that, tragically, would erupt less than a decade later as World War II.

I really struggled with consigning this beautiful piece, but it makes me quite happy to see it has a loving and appreciative new home!

My good luck that you decided to part with it (and the other)!  This one is already framed and in my office, and the other will hang next to it very soon.

That's AWESOME.  Thank you!  BTW I posted several more Cesares in my gallery today, and will be posting more soon.
