Description
The original hand-painted and published cover artworks by Peter Longden for issue #1651 of TV Comic, issue #50 of Postman Pat Weekly, and the 1970 and 1985 Pippin Holiday Specials. This lot comes from the personal collection of renowned cartoon illustrator and author Peter Longden.

The TV Comic #1651 cover, featuring Popeye, Swee'Pea, and Tom and Jerry, is rendered on an illustration board, with select elements produced as cutouts and affixed to the main composition. "1651" is inscribed in pencil in the bottom right corner. The Postman Pat Weekly #50 cover is hand-painted on paper, mounted to a card border, and signed by Longden in black ink.

The 1970 Pippin Holiday Special cover is likewise signed by Longden and created on an illustration board, inscribed "Pippin Holiday Special" in pencil. The 1985 cover is rendered on paper and mounted to a card border. Both depict a variety of characters from the Pippin franchise, including Bill and Ben, Spotty, Morph, SuperTed, Portland Bill, and others. Dimensions (Pippin Holiday Special): 51.5 cm x 38.5 cm (20.25" x 15.25")
