Some years back, for the need of funds, I sold a great James O’Barr piece. It is actually going to be up for auction on Heritage soon, the fellow who bought it from me is selling it there, go check it out! I can’t recommend it enough! I was going to bid, try to get it back…but then this piece popped up on eBay…. I shouldn’t have bought a piece this pricey…but I’ve never been accused of being smart with money. Heh. And voila! Here he is!

We’ve all learned the lesson…let a piece pass you buy…pay the price, often literally. (Aside…last month I bid on a Ramona Fradon page….didn’t want to pay more, so I stopped, let another bidder win it for $275. A month later, it’s on eBay for $1500. Tough, tough hobby this can be.)

This piece is fantastic! The light plays nicely on it. Very happy to have a James O’Barr The Crow again.

He uses that white pencil well! Very smooth look with the contrast in white from behind.

Love how he's framed by the light but then it fades to black...effective stuff! Congrats!
