Astonishing X-Men #25 (2008) page 8: Storm's grand entrance (Bianchi)

The X-Men were on a roll in 2008 after the twin successes of Grant Morrison's New X-Men (with Frank Quitely, Chris Bachalo, Marc Silvestri, and other artists) and Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men (with John Cassaday). To keep the momentum going, writer Warren Ellis picked up the baton with the "Ghost Box" story. Simone Bianchi had turned in impressive work on Grant Morrison's Shining Knight mini-series for DC. Here he brings his stylish layouts and detailed, expressive figure work to Marvel, providing both pencils and final ink, as is the European tradition.

Ororo had a cameo appearance in Whedon's final issue, but this page is her true re-introduction for the Astonishing series. Beast's grin in the bottom panel stands in for the reader's delight as the goddess descends. Even Emma and Scott look suitably impressed. The whole issue is essentially banter as Ellis sets the tone for the story to come.
