PiMania was a LP released in 2010 to celebrate the music of the early Eighties software developer Automata who regularly included music alongside their ZX81 and ZX Spectrum games software. Automata were one of the earliest software houses in the UK and one of the most imaginative and subversive. Head honcho, Mel Croucher brilliantly mixed music and gaming with his off colour lyrics, psychedelic sound and tales of the PiMan and his chums. It was conceptual and experimental in equal measure.

PiMania was a limited edition release of 500 copies and came in a gatefold sleeve that folds upward to show this painting featuring characters from Automata's back catalogue and formers associates and staff including Mel on guitar and Robin (the artist) with brush and easel.

A great and unique piece that is made more interesting with Robin's use of the edges of the canvas as a paint mixing and colour testing area.
