(aka Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas!) debuted on Dec. 18, 1966 on CBS. Since that time, the Chuck Jones directed/produced short has become a beloved Christmas classic, airing annually on various networks throughout the years. Offered here is 2 cel setup featuring original hand-painted production animation cels, each on approx. 10x13" acetate sheet. Scene depicts combined 4.25x7.5" image area showing the Grinch in his Santa Claus outfit, gleefully rolling up a carpet filled w/Cindy Lou Who and her family's Christmas presents. This scene takes place around the 12:21 mark in the special, just after the Grinch plucks the star from atop the Who Family Christmas tree. Top cel w/Grinch image has been signed in black felt tip pen by Chuck Jones (1912-2002), who added "©1966 MGM" copyright below his signature. Cels have been attached to matching printed bkg. w/two pieces of white tape at top for overall size of 11x14". Produced and released in 2011 by the daughter of Chuck Jones - Linda Jones Clough - through her company Linda Jones Enterprises. Inc. Top cel (marked "75-106-006" at lower left) has Linda Jones seal while second cel (marked "A-1" and "23" at lower right) has impressed "LJE" company mark at lower left. Cels' paint remain complete and intact w/o any cracks or flakes and setup would make for an Exc. framed display. Comes w/Linda Jones COA w/matching cel number.
