Art depicts Smokey Stover and The Fire Chief subset, w/hand-lettered names below art and "Copr. 1945/6 Famous Artists Syn." hand-lettered text along top. Art remains clean and Exc. The Fire Chief display also includes separate 3.5x3.5 or 4.5x4.75" dia. sheet of onionskin paper w/pink/fleshtone colors which, when placed over the bw art, provides the colors for the finished button. Corners of the sheet is mounted w/small pieces of double-sided tape to acetate sheet that can be removed and placed over art. Paper has a few thin ripple lines, but this does not detract visually. Smokey has larger color overlay attached to back. Unique and historic button art. Pair includes examples of the pins in custom cases for display.
