Rhino - Greg Schmidt

There are very few straight lines (at least in the characters) in Greg Schmidt’s work. Everything is curvy and bendy - it reminds me a bit of Gumby. I also appreciate that he doesn’t shy away from more niche characters. He even sells prints of the cantina band from Star Wars!

Seeing his booth at Planet ComicCon reminded me that he actually did my very first commission, a Mysterio at a local con in MN. I guess I could identify styles that I liked even 7 years ago! I still remember him being relieved that I wanted the Ditko style as opposed to Gyllenhaal style.

Here, I like that he has an Elvis style poof for his horn. And he looks so happy to be punching!
