Rhino - Artgerm

My other main goal at Planet ComicCon was to get a sketch from Artgerm. He does raffle tickets each day for a limited number of sketches. I used up my luck for the year since I won a spot on the same day I made Bachalo’s list too!

Artgerm let us know in a panel that he doesn’t read comics (just manga), so his art is entirely from reference images. I made sure he had reference of the classic Rhino.

While it shouldn’t come as a surprise, he did officially let me know that this is the first time he has drawn Rhino. “Very retro! I like him!” he said while sketching.

While primarily known for drawing attractive women, I’m glad Artgerm could bring his airbrushed softness to a big, beefy man. It’s cool how there is both muscle definition and smoothness to him.
