Alfa Romeo 158 watercolor painting by Frank Munger, A fine watercolor on artist paper, features an Alfa Romeo in a turn in the rain, 16H x 19W. Frank Munger Mainly an British aviation artist but has painted many motor racing watercolours. Known for his cutaway drawings of aircraft which have been seen from the 1950's and he was still working in the late 1990's despite ‘retiring’ in 1985. Worked alongside Max Millar in the 1940’s at Flight magazine. It is believed most of the motoring watercolour work was painted in later life.

Press as an editorial artist. Exhibited his first paintings in London, 1966, and worked in all media but mainly watercolour, also showing in the provinces and having solo exhibitions local to West Hallam, Derbyshire, where he lived. Was a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society, the Guild of Aviation Artists and was a founder-member of the Guild of Motoring Artists. Wildlife and landscapes were also painted. Won a number of awards, including Aviation Painting of the Year, 1991. Numerous magazines and books included Munger’s work, which was held in public and private collections.
