Description

Annihilation: Heralds of Galactus Issue #2 was released on April 4, 2007. This issue follows directly after the main Annihilation event and explores Silver Surfer’s renewed role as Herald to Galactus during this era. I recently picked up a grouping of new pages to support the early Guardians of the Galaxy collection, and while no GOTG characters appear on this particular page, it ties closely into the major events that helped shape the modern team.

I previously purchased another page from this issue featuring Aegis and Tenebrous, who served as powerful antagonists during the Annihilation event. This page helps define and clarify the dynamics between Galactus and Silver Surfer in the aftermath of the conflict. It is also a rarer example of the two working together during this period.

This moment follows Galactus's story after one of my earlier Annihilation pages, where Galactus is held in bondage by Aegis and Tenebrous. Here, Galactus sends his Herald out after them.

Additionally, this page shares both the writer and penciler from the main Annihilation series, which ties it even more firmly into the core event. It is a perfect fit for my main collection.

I want to thank all the little humans people for this award. If it wasn't for you, I would have just been eating indiscriminately into a dad bod like that one silly asguardian. Thanks to this shiny award, I am fit and ready to be watched by all my faithful Watchers. P.S. this one's for you Mom!

Who needs GOTG characters on the page (ok, I guess for a quick second I forgot whose gallery I was in! lol)!!!?? Any back and forth discussion/dialogue between Galactus and Surfer makes for a special page for cosmic Marvel fans - the kind of page where I'm tempted to write my own dialogue for it under a different context but I did go take a look at the actual published page ;)

Give my regards to broadway
Remember me to Herald here
Tell Andrea at 42nd street
That I will soon be there
Whisper of how I'm yearning
For Marvel Annihilation
Give my regards to surf board page
And say that I'll be there airlong
