Roy was an illustrator's illustrator whose draftsmanship, whether in one of his ubiquitous doodles or a more finished piece, was nearly flawless. The execution of this piece is truly masterful, presenting a breed of deer native to Asia. Pen and ink on heavy paper, 14 x 10.

Fantastic RGK example!  Great movement and animal anatomy in this one, and just enough background and undergrowth to ground the galloping figure
