Superman rug hooking

When I was 7 or 8 years old, my paternal grand-mother Marie-Rose AuCoin produced this rug-hooking (top image) of Superman based on the Curt Swan image I had on my pillow case (bottom image).  I've had it on my wall for many years now as a testament to the creativity and perseverance of a very strong and intelligent woman, who passed away more than a decade ago.  It would have been her 104th birthday today, so I post this as a tribute to her and all she provided to our family.  The rug-hooking technique she used is a unique technique that is specific to my home Acadian community of Cheticamp situated on the Cabot Trail on the Island of Cape Breton in Nova Scotia, Canada.
