I’ve always loved the versions of Joker that feel genuinely theatrical — not just criminal, but almost operatic in the way they revel in chaos. For this piece, I wanted the laughter to completely take over the image. The upward angle, the stretched mouth, the deep shadows around the eyes and jaw — all to make him feel larger-than-life and deeply unsettling at the same time.
I also tried to keep the rendering loose in certain areas so the expression would hit harder immediately from a distance. Sometimes with Joker, the energy matters more than perfect polish.
