Innards is a series from Ignition Press by Rob Guillory (writer) and Sam Lofti (art) with colors from Jean-Francois Beaulieu and letters by Andrew Thomas.
The first two issues were #0, a introduction to the main story produced for ComicsPRO, and the generally released #1. The story premise is given #0.
Per Copilot, the setting is the Earth after a catastrophic nuclear attack in which all traditional fossil fuel sources are destroyed. Humanity survives only because of Lucifium, a mysterious mineral buried miles beneath the Earth. It can be reached only by teleportation into a hostile, maze‑like underworld. The mining is run by the ONIS Corporation, whose operations are dangerous, secretive, and increasingly ominous.
Innards #0 (“The Cold Open”) and Innards #1 together establish a tight, escalating sci‑fi horror narrative centered on Roy Wilder, a desperate new recruit joining a crew of subterranean miners (“divers”) who teleport miles underground to extract the last energy source keeping humanity alive. Issue #0 sets the tone and world; Issue #1 launches the main plot and introduces the core cast.
Sam had copies of both at the delightful and free, Eastern Rim Funny Book and Vintage Con. As you can see, he was doing remarques and signing if you bought the books. So I did the natural. :)
