This is the 8th painting of my pieces in this vein of war pieces. Like the others, there's always an impending, off "screen" threat. This one has a little more symbolism than the others and the off-screen element is more up for debate.  Is the the light a threat or a rescue? Is the light friend or foe? The light is coming down like the searchlights of a police helicopter, Sentinel, or some group of villains, basically it could be danger back for seconds! But, depending on the interpretation, it could be a friend, a rescue. Is it a medical helicopter, Shield, the Blackbird? I guess it's however you see it.



In terms of the symbolism, here's the story. The setting of this painting is the rubble of a church. The light is coming from the alter and all in all, it's about how Daredevil, and you, could see religion. Friend or foe?



I hope that isn't too artsy. I had fun with it. It feels good to not just make backgrounds and elements based on composition only. I'll probably keep going with these kinds of paintings. I enjoy the narrative.
