Fantastic George Perez cover for Amethyst, but then, eveything George drew was pretty fantastic. Love all the detail he managed to include here. like the laughing tree, the fairy playing on its flute, the googly eyed fish...What a wonderful depictiion of Gem World!
That's a real oddity! The pairing of artists is so unusual. On seeing the listing, I'd expected Colon to have made this look a little more Harvey. But then again, he was so adaptable - and he seems to have really given this a different, 'magical' feel to Perez's pencils. So interesting.

I think they did make a movie adaptation about this the film was an intense riot and was entitled Uncut Gems or some such like this and it starred Adam Sandler you know the Happy Golfmore guy!!!?? George Pérez was a big fan he told me himself while on line for some Mike and Ike's at the AMC 11 near the boardwalk somewhere between Asbury Park and Atlantic City NJ. Wait, where am I???
