The Adams pencil sketch that I've based this ink piece on was something that I couldn't resist inking my own version of when I saw a copy of it online.
These ‘Re-Ink-Arnations’ (as I like to call them) are an act of translation from pencil to ink--and like any translation, some things are lost, some things are adapted, and some things end up looking very different. That’s the appeal. It’s one professional artist using ink to complete another pro artist’s pencil lines—in the same way that the majority of published American-style comic art is produced-- where ‘pencillers and ‘inkers’ collaborate to create the finished artwork.
PLEASE NOTE: This artwork is a one-of-a-kind recreation, entirely inked by hand by myself, over a ‘blueline’ copy of the original pencils, pre-printed onto 240 gsm Bristol board.
