It's a great crossover intended to sell toys! Published in 1978 when there was a big need to merchandise as much Superman as possible to take advantage of the Popularity of the movies! JLGL would probably take this design into the influential model sheet style guide work. This might have more visual power than the original being embalzoned with colors that are very nostalgic.
