Original Frederick Blakeslee Ink art for "The Way of the Hellions" inside the May 1944 Volume 6 Issue 2 with a good condition to fine copy of Battle Birds Pulp and a photo copy image of the art as it appears inside the pulp. The group is customed framed with museum glass.
This is found in the same pulp issue whose original oil for the cover was featured on Antiques Road show episode on PBS.
John Pederson Jr, originally had this in his possesion when he passed away in 2025. John was a miltary draftsman as was Frederick Blakeslee. John Pederson Jr was a prolific painter having many of his art appear as cover illustartions for a number of sci fi magazines such as If, and Galaxy among many others. It is thought they knew eachother with the comonality of both being military draftsmen and art illustrators. The art ink original was purchased from John Peterson's estate through Trail County Art Coalition in HIllsboro ND where John Pederson lived and worked.
John Pederson Jr also had a original oil from a Feb 1942 Battle Birds cover from Frederick Blakeslee when he passed away.
