Dan Jurgens & Brett Breeding Superman/Doomsday: Hunter/Prey #1 Original Art Group (DC, 1994) Pages 31-35 — Five Consecutive Battle Pages Featuring Darkseid vs. Doomsday

One of the most explosive sequences from the legendary Death of Superman aftermath, this exceptional group of five consecutive original art pages captures the first epic confrontation between Darkseid and Doomsday—two of the most unstoppable forces in the DC Universe.

Created by the team that introduced Doomsday to comic history, Dan Jurgens (pencils) and Brett Breeding (inks), these pages originate from Superman/Doomsday: Hunter/Prey #1 (1994), the landmark miniseries that revealed the true nature and origins of Superman's greatest physical adversary. Following the worldwide success of The Death of Superman, this series expanded the mythology of Doomsday while delivering one of the earliest and most memorable clashes between the Lord of Apokolips and the monster who had slain the Man of Steel.

Across these five uninterrupted pages (31-35), Darkseid unleashes the devastating power of his Omega Effect against Doomsday in a brutal, cinematic exchange of blows. Modern readers will recognize the historical significance of this confrontation, as later DC continuity would establish the thematic opposition between Darkseid's Omega Energy and Doomsday's Alpha Energy, making this battle a fascinating early precursor to concepts that would become central decades later.

Executed in ink over graphite on official DC Comics Bristol board, each page features an image area measuring approximately 9.75" x 15". Several panels contain striking original red editorial color indications representing the destructive path of Darkseid's Omega Beams, adding an additional layer of visual interest rarely preserved in published original art.

The artwork exhibits only minor handling wear consistent with professional production use. Page 34 bears Brett Breeding's signature in the upper right margin. The group is otherwise in excellent overall condition.

Complete multi-page action sequences from major DC storylines are considerably scarcer than individual pages, and opportunities to acquire five consecutive pages depicting a sustained battle between Darkseid and Doomsday are exceptionally rare. For collectors of Superman, Fourth World mythology, Doomsday, or premier 1990s DC original art, this is a museum-worthy centerpiece that combines historical importance, dynamic storytelling, and artwork by the definitive creative team behind one of comics' most enduring modern villains.
