Description

A very early piece in my collection, courtesy of Scott Dunbier at a con in Rome several years ago. Personally, I rate Sal (when inking himself) one of my fave Spidey artists ever: love his angular style, which plays counterpoint to Romita's smoothness and McFarlane's twistedness.

I remember seeing this Spiderman also used as a 1:1 cardboard cutout.

Sal had such a great run on Spidey and I read those primarily because of his art. Great pickup!

Not sure what possessed Sal to make such a dramatic shift in his style back then, but thank Kirby he did! Sal's work on the title in the 90's was so fantastic. His ink line so expressive and unique to him, great example!
