Description
A quick pen and ink sketch of a Lion that Jones drew a few years ago. The composition demonstrates the verve with which Jeffrey is able to create complex images with very few strokes of the pen. Pen & ink on heavy paper, 8.5" x 11".

Jones came up with such distinctive mane shapes.  The body is so solid --- the stiffness of the tail, the indications of veins and tendons on the hind leg, the texture of the fur, and the volume of the body all read perfectly with just a few quick marks on the page
