The Goon

Here's a lovely example from a contemporary comic book artist, who I think, is destined to stand the test of time. There's a great sense of energy in Eric Powell's work that reminds me of the way I felt as a boy looking at comics, and in the character of The Goon, it's combined with a wicked sense of humour and great storytelling.

I believe this is from one of the few stories where the art was actually hand painted and not coloured digitally. I think it's a real beauty.
