Wow! Great story with fantastic artwork. Definitely one of the definining moments of Doctor Doom's character, showing us both his tragic past and his overwhelming arrogance. Colan was the perfect artist for such an atmospheric story.

Colan & Palmer's work together continuously evolved through the years, but I think they maintained such a high degree of quality, I never really find one stage better than the other, just different. However, when it comes to memorable stories, this one is high on the list. No wonder you consider it a grail.
