Description

This is the last page from the hard cover GN The Boulevard of Broken Dreams. It features Deitch's greatest creation and star of the book, WALDO. He's an "unusual" cat. This piece features Waldo's mind being blown(a part of the story) by reading the actual book the piece is in!

If ya don't know: Deitch was an important part of underground comix from the 1960s on.
In the past two decades, his comics have become longer and and more elaborate, notable for great density of visual detail and wild stories that veer between fantasy and reality and skip through time. His best-known character is a mysterious cat named Waldo, who appears variously as a famous cartoon character of the 1930s, as an actual character in the "reality" of the strips, as the demonic reincarnation of Judas Iscariot, and who, occasionally, is claimed to have overcome Deitch and written the comics himself. GREAT STUFF!
