You know what i like about Byrne's Cyclops? He draws him thin but still muscular. I know that's a weird thing to latch onto, but in the early comics his nickname was "Slim" and I always thought he shouldn't be very bulky because of that.

I agree with Atilla on that -- Slim Summers indeed. I agree with the reasons. Not every hero has to be buffed up with Liefeld-like muscles. Cyclops isn't some muscle-bound hero -- he's Slim Summers. Byrne understands that. The costume, the shreds of it left, the beam, the look on Scott's face -- he's fighting for his life and looks like he's been at it for some time. Beautiful commission. If only Hidden Years had kept going ...

As cool as his early version has always been. This one still makes me think of great Uncanny X-men 138, with Cyclops leaving on the cover, and that means a lot.

That's the real Cyclops! The true leader of the X-Men, who keeps fighting, never giving up. It's not that whiny brat who keeps popping up in new X-Men comics.

I love the battle worn Scoot Summers. John put alot of personality into this one.
