DescriptionThese are pics of what was originally contracted as a cold cast statue some years back. I produced the sketch (which was sold from my gallery several months back) and Shawn Nagle of www.nagleworks.com did the sculpt based on that sketch. I then did the painting based on photos of the sculpt so that the box art would mesh perfectly with the sculpt. Because I painted it from the sculpt, the face isn't exactly how I would have drawn it, but it was important that it match the face Shawn sculpted. It also explains why the Norseman on the right is a little out of proportion. Overall, it came out fairly well for such an unorthodox way of working. It was an interesting exercise, but not a process I'd like to do again. Incidently, the statue was never produced but it was available as a garage kit for a limited time.Social/Sharing |
