Description

Romain Hugault is the creator and artist of Final Flight and Pin-Up Wings, two English language books from the French publisher Paquet. He was signing at my brother's Stuart Ng Books booth and this drawing was done in my copy of Final Flight as European artists often do. I asked for a Hellcat since our father Horace was in the US Navy at NAS Alameda during World War II and worked on Hellcats and Grumman Avengers. Romain drew a great Lockheed P-38 for Stuart. While I was hanging around the booth, Bill Presing, artist for Rex Steele and Belle du jour, came to see Romain and compare notes about drawing planes and girls. UPDATE: Romain's latest English language work is The Grand Duke published in May 2012 by Archaia.
