Ruben worked on Disney features and is best known for sculpting character maquettes. He is illustrating text stories for Moonstone Books and came to sign The Phantom Chronicles at my brother's Stuart Ng Books booth. I love his inclusion of the Phantom's two rings. The skull ring which he uses to mark his enemies and the crossed swords ring which identifies his friends.

I hardly read any Phantom comics, but fell in love with the character after reading the Avon book The Story of the Phantom from 1972. It was credited to Lee Falk while others in the series were not. So I like to think the Phantom's creator wrote it himself. Falk also created Mandrake the Magician.
