Description

Presenting a beautifully detailed cover reproduction of the classic 1940 children's tale of a peddler, some monkeys, and their monkey business - "Caps for Sale" by Esphyr Slobodkina. This book was my wife's favorite childhood story so I commissioned this piece as a gift for her as she started teaching 4th grade. It was really fun to work with Larry on this piece. Although most of his commissioning work is on Golden and Silver Age covers, he was thrilled by the chance to do something different and the results certainly reflect his enthusiasm - my wife called this the best gift she ever received! So all youse other mugs better take note and run, don't walk, to your nearest Larry Jones commissioning station and commission your significant other a fantastic L.J. childhood recreation!

I'm going to place an overlay containing the "Caps for Sale" logo and a quote by Ms. Slobodkina over the right and left blank spaces before framing the piece for permanent exhibition in my wife's classroom. Check back here soon to see photos of the overlays and frame.
