DescriptionThis early production storyboard was illustrated by Industrial Light & Magic veteran and Emmy award-winning special effects artist Paul Huston in late 1975. It was based on early drafts for the special effects sequences that ILM was planning for the Death Star battle scene. Huston began his career at ILM as a model maker and storyboard artist for the original trilogy. He became an integral member of ILM, lending his artistry on a long list of major films, including every Star Wars and Indiana Jones films.Horror film director and producer Charles Band obtained the storyboards about 30 years ago from friends he knew at ILM and kept them in his private collection all this time until he recently decided to let them go. The storyboards were drawn with Rapidograph pens and gray felt markers in black-and-white and shades of gray on tracing vellum. The actual image size of the storyboards is about 4” X 9.5’ and on 7” X 11” vellum paper. Social/Sharing |
