Description
In 2005, I won the Heritage Auction for the front cover to All-New Collector's Edition 53 (C53). I was thrilled.

In 2007, I discovered the Treasury Comics website and contributed a scan of my cover to the website. Since then, I've found a few other scans that Rob likes and he has credited me for finding them.

The credits have been picked up by Google and one can search on "treasury comics" "alex johnson" and get links where I'm mentioned.

On September 6th, 2007, I decided to show my wife that I'm so famous that I can be googled. She was very impressed, I'm sure. While looking at the page where C53 is discussed, Kathy moved the cursor over the scan and saw the back cover. I told her that I'd probably never even see it for sale and that it probably had been destroyed at some point.

The next night, she flew to see our youngest daughter in college. I was at home so I decided to see what was on eBay. The fourth item on the page was - yep, you guessed it - the back cover. I could not believe it!

Long story short, I bid and managed to win.

I still can't believe it and it's hanging with its partner in my den.

I hope you enjoy it. Feel free to leave your comments.

PS. You can see the original art next to the printed cover and the front cover in the Additional Images. You can read about how I got the front cover here.

PPS. The piece was sold on eBay by oftimespast, the eBay id, of The time Capsule, a comic shop in Cranston, RI. I was in Foxboro, MA on business over a weekend and drove down to the shop. I spoke to the owner and he remembered that the piece came from the estate of a nearby resident named Phil and that someone got there earlier and got the "good" stuff. I must say that I'm thrilled this piece was left for me to find.
