Description

Here is how Bob described it on his site: "In 2001, as a follow-up to our Batman special project "Dark Knight of the Round Table," Dick Giordano and I proposed to do an Elseworld series that involved the original Batman movie serial of the 1940s. During the time that we were producing this project, both Dickie and I came up with a plethora of cover designs, most of which wound up in the circular file. Of the three covers I designed for the mini-series, the layout for #1 was used, but #2 & #3 were rejected for reasons I can't recall. Just recently [2007], I came upon the pencils to the two rejected covers and decided to ink them and add the trade-dress."
