I must admit ...
I'm not much a fan of this "American Anime" style..

too many jokers just do a bad riff on it..
without any depth, or knowledge..
of why the Anime style exists in the 1st place..
what the emotions are..why a particular stylization is used..etc.,etc.

Anime does come from a completely different culture..

and it does seem to be an allowance to display badly done Anatomy..
ie: rubber arms...funny noses..crazy looking fingers..goofy eyes..

Don't get me wrong..
I like Anime plenty..I just have no desire to do my own bad take on it..
but the entire lexicon of Anime style is just ripped off by people who use it as a short-hand..
instead of finding their own personal artistic discovery..

and I only say to this to the lazy artists who have made a career out of mining the style to their own benefit..

now Jack Kirby came up with his own style after much trial & error..
well..Jack Kirby came up with his own style a few times..
the man was a genius..
Alex Toth did as well..
even Adam Hughes refined a drawing style after time..
Jason Pearson seems to be the only American comicbook artist to use the Anime style as an influence and not as a rip..

but many of these American Anime artists just seem lazy to me..
to explore the style with a little intelligence..

then again...that's just me......
