This undated piece by Buzz is a grail. Ten on a scale of ten, spectacularly done, body, face, position, shading etc. and it is full of little strokes of genius. That circle showing in the back showing just the right combination of light and dark tones is one of them. He solves the problem of having to show an entire horizontally-flying rocket in a vertically-oriented page by putting on markings showing it to be a circus rocket, making the otherwise odd shape perfectly acceptable in context. This is breathtaking, especially in person at 14" by 17".

Isn't that "odd shape" due to foreshortening? It's the same reason the figure isn't in profile - you can see down her shirt after all.
