Description

Wagner's take on Batman is just the right mix of traditional and gritty. It is a little old school--without the necessity to show every vein and muscle--but dramatically illustrates Batman's character and presence. This is one of those occasions where the artist is a perfect fit for the character. I thought this iconic piece was a terrific example of Wagner's work hen I first saw the cover and tried to hunt it down. Now, I am lucky enough to add it to my collection. I couldn't be more pleased.

Ink wash on this cover is just amazing. I agree with you completely, Wagner captured the true essence of Batman on this one, without the tons of muscle and veins. It just looks great this way. Great addition to your stunning Batman-collection. I always enjoy visiting it!
