DescriptionPhotograph of Mike Peppe. Date unknown. Given to me by his widow, Fern.Starting at Fiction House in the 1940s, Mike Peppe was primarily an inker who embellished the pencils of legends like Mike Sekowsky, John Celardo, George Tuska, and even Steve Ditko. Peppe was best known for being art director at Standard Comics, during which time he often collaborated with Alex Toth. He later worked for Dell and DC Comics.I wrote an article about Mike Peppe which was published in two parts, in issue #s108 and 109 of Alter Ego magazine. Social/Sharing |
